Alan Shawsmith Snr, VK4SS pictured above, has had an unbroken relationship with wireless and AR for the past 82 years. If asked about this long experience he would say "it's been my richest reward in a very full life - far more than anything I could have dreamed of as a kid."
Alan worked as a journalist, columnist, and feature writer for many years, publishing in several local and overseas magazines. Presently he is working on an autobiography some abridged extracts from it follow. Hopefully they will revive a memory or two from somewhere back down the track.
